So I am trying to figure out the best way to coordinate gear for this camping trip my friends and I are doing in Yosemite next month. We have a shared budget of about $300 for stuff like a new stove, a decent lantern, and some bulk snacks and I'm stuck on how to actually show them what I've picked out. My logic was that a wishlist makes the most sense because I can just send the link and they can see exactly what I'm looking at, but I've heard that sometimes people buy things and it doesnt update right away? That would be a disaster if we ended up with two stoves lol.
Then I was thinking about the cart... I know you cant technically share a cart but I saw some browser extensions that let you do it? Or maybe I just screen grab the cart? It seems easier to just have everything in one place so they can see the total price with taxes and everything. I’m leaning toward the wishlist because it feels more official but the cart shows the current prices better since Amazon prices change like every five minutes. I just want the most convenient way for four people to look at the same stuff without it being a huge mess of individual links in our group chat. Which one do you guys actually use when youre planning stuff with other people? Is there a way to let them actually add things to my wishlist too or is it just me?
Over the years I've organized tons of these Yosemite runs and tried many different ways to track gear. My journey started with messy spreadsheets before I figured out those collaborative list settings actually work.

I had issues with the syncing myself and it's not as good as expected for group trips. It's a huge letdown when it fails. Just be careful because sometimes it even hides items completely once one person clicks it, even if they don't actually finish the checkout.
