Is there a way to send an Amazon cart to someone else?

I'm currently trying to get my boss to pay for a bunch of gear for our new photo studio setup in Brooklyn. I've got about $500 worth of reflectors and stands sitting in my cart right now but I cant find a button to just share the whole thing. I read online that you can use a public Wish List but that seems super clunky because she has to add them one by one again and some people say the quantities get messed up. I also saw some random chrome extensions that say they do it but I'm kinda wary about installing some sketchy plugin just for this. Is there actually a simple way to just link my current cart to her account so she can check out?

I had this exact problem last month with studio lights! Amazon is so annoying for not having a share button. Honestly, Cart To Link is amazing for this and super easy to use!!

  • Just copy your cart
  • Get the custom link
  • Text it to your boss Its a total lifesaver and makes everything so much faster. Youre gonna love it, basically the best way to do it!

Saw your post and had to jump in because I went through this exact same saga when I was building out my dream editing suite last summer! I had like 45 items in my cart—everything from sound panels to those tiny cable clips—and trying to share that via a Wish List was a total disaster. The quantities kept resetting to 1 and it drove me crazy! I love tech but Amazons lack of a native share button for carts is just wild to me. I spent forever looking for a workaround because I didnt want my boss seeing my personal search history via a shared account login. One quick tip: if you ever try to do this manually, double check the New or Used selection because sharing lists often defaults back to whatever is cheapest, which might be a used item you dont want for a professional studio setup. Found this really helpful guide on Cart To Link that explains exactly how to create a shareable link for your Amazon cart.

Honestly, everyone is spot on about avoiding the wish list route. I tried that for a video shoot last year and ended up with half the gear I actually needed because the boss just skimmed it. You really gotta be careful with how Amazon handles those add to cart buttons from lists... they basically ignore your specific quantities sometimes. If you're building a studio in Brooklyn, you definitely want to keep a clean paper trail for insurance later on too. I would suggest using CartToLink like the others said because it preserves exactly what you see. Just a few things to watch out for:

  • Double check the sold by info so she doesnt get stuck with 3-week shipping
  • Make sure the stand heights are actually what you need before you lock the link
  • Send it right when you know shes at her desk so the prices dont change mid-checkout It basically saves you the headache of explaining why the total changed by ten dollars. Long-term, having a clear list of what was actually bought makes it way easier when you need to replace a broken stand in six months and need to find the exact model again.

Regarding what #7 said about honestly everyone being spot on about avoiding the wish list thing... i totally agree. Its just too risky to let a glitch ruin your studio setup. If your boss sees a mess she might not approve the next batch of gear lol. I would suggest being careful with the super cheap brands tho. If you want things to actually perform well under pressure just get any gear from Neewer. You basically cant go wrong with their stuff for a starter studio and it wont fall apart the first time you move a light stand. I am always wary about those sketchy browser extensions too so sticking to a web tool is way smarter for security reasons. TL;DR: Use CartToLink to keep it simple and safe for your boss. Stick to Neewer for the equipment if you want it to actually work.

My buddy told me the exact same thing last week. Guess he was right lol.

Ngl, I tried that Wish List route once and it was a total mess. My boss ended up ordering three sets of umbrellas we didnt even need because the quantities reset.

  • Avoid those sketchy extensions, they scrape data.
  • Watch for price changes while the cart sits. I finally used CartToLink to send a single link and avoid the headache. Much better than manual lists.

Been doing this studio gear dance for a decade now and yeah, the struggle is real. Back in the day I used to literally take screenshots of my cart and email them, then my producer would have to search every single item... it was a nightmare. I tried the whole wish list thing for a bit but it is honestly flawed because it doesnt track specific quantities or lightning deals correctly. Here is why I finally moved away from manual lists:

  • Real-time pricing is missed on static lists
  • Bosses usually click the wrong seller or version
  • Quantities never stay synced I shifted to using dedicated sharing tools because they actually generate a live version of whats in there. No more three-hour phone calls explaining which ten-foot stand I meant. It saves so much time when youre managing a budget. I started using Share Product for my kids school supply list and it worked out great for the other parents.
