honestly so sick of my old LG C1 its got this nasty vertical line right down the middle and the ghosting is making Elden Ring impossible to play I swear I'm about to lose it. I need a new screen before Prime Day hits in July cuz I cant keep living like this and my budget is strictly under $1200 for a 65 inch if possible.

I've been looking at the Sony X90L or maybe a newer OLED but I'm terrified of the same thing happening again. does anyone know which specific models are expected to have the deepest discounts for Prime Day 2026? I need something with at least 120Hz for my PS5 that wont break on me in two years...

Man that line on the C1 sounds like a nightmare. I actually went through something similar where my old panel just gave up on me, so I switched over to the Hisense U8N 65-Inch Mini-LED 4K 144Hz and honestly I've been super happy with it. If you want to stay under that 1200 mark for Prime Day, Hisense is usually where the deepest cuts are. The way it handles my PS5 games is just impressive, been very satisfied with it. Since it's Mini-LED, you get insane peak brightness which makes Elden Ring look totally different, and you dont have to stress about pixel degradation like you do with OLED tech. The local dimming zones are really dense, so you get those deep blacks without the fragility. It handles 120Hz perfectly, so movement stays smooth tho. Honestly works well for movies too, no complaints here.

Dude, that vertical line would drive me absolutely insane! I had a similar issue with an old screen and it basically ruined gaming for me until I finally swapped it out. Since you are worried about OLED reliability, you have to look at Mini-LED or high-end Full Array instead. Prime Day 2026 is gonna have some insane steals on these specific models and they are perfect for a PS5 setup. tbh you won't even miss the OLED blacks once you see the brightness on these. Here is what I would be hunting for:

  • Sony Bravia 7 65 Inch Mini-LED 4K 120Hz
  • This is basically the gold standard for PS5 because of the auto HDR tone mapping. The brightness is just mind-blowing!
  • Hisense U8N 65 Inch Mini-LED 144Hz
  • Seriously the best bang for your buck. It gets so incredibly bright that Elden Ring will look like a totally different game.
  • Sony X90L 65 Inch 4K Full Array LED
  • If you want to stay under that $1200 mark easily, this is the one. It is a total beast and super reliable for long sessions. I honestly love my Sony setup because the motion processing is just way better than anything else I've tried. You wont get that weird ghosting you're seeing now. Definitely keep an eye on the lightning deals because those Mini-LEDs usually drop right into your budget range during the big July sale... it's gonna be amazing! Just make sure you grab one early cuz they sell out fast. The Bravia 7 is my top pick for Elden Ring specifically because the shadow detail is fantastic!
