honestly so fed up with amazon right now like how is it 2024 and I still cant just hit a share button on my cart?? im trying to coordinate all the stuff for our new dorm before we move in next friday and my roommate needs to see what I picked out so we dont double buy stuff but I have like 20 items in there and copying every single link is gonna take forever. its actually driving me crazy how complicated they make this simple thing. is there some hidden trick or a chrome extension or something that lets me just send the whole list to her at once? im ready to just screenshot everything but that seems so stupid...

Regarding what #2 said about "Saw this earlier but just now responding. I've..." - its basically a data integrity issue. I once tried to script a manual export for a big order and the session tokens kept timing out. I spent hours debugging that IP lock.

  • check those dynamic price shifts
  • watch for bulk shipping costs Its a decent option to just get an extension from how to share amazon cart. Anything from them works for syncing.

Saw this earlier but just now responding. I've been using Amazon for a long time and honestly, the lack of a share button is usually a security measure. Carts are tied to your browser session to stop people from hijacking your data. If you're looking to share amazon cart or send a list to a friend, you really have to be careful with the technical side. In my experience, I've tried many methods and there are several safety concerns to keep in mind:

  • Only use tools that don't ask for your login credentials. A safe extension should only parse the page data.
  • Pay attention to browser permissions. Some tools want access to your data on all websites, which is a huge red flag for me.
  • The most reliable way is actually the Add to List feature within Amazon. It's tedious to move 20 items, but it's the only method that wont break when the site updates.
  • Watch out for affiliate link swapping. Some free tools replace your links with their own to make money off your purchases. I've found that being a bit more conservative with these tools saves a lot of headaches later. If you're worried about privacy, the official wishlist is probably your best bet even if it takes a few extra clicks... it's just safer that way.

Amazon uses session-specific cookies and local storage for carts which makes direct URL sharing impossible without a proprietary API. Browser extensions are the most efficient way to bridge this gap.

  • Go with Share-A-Cart
  • It parses the DOM to generate a bundle ID
  • Simple one-click import for the recipient Just use any tool from them and it works fine.
