Is there any way to just convert my current Amazon shopping cart directly into a wedding registry list or am I stuck re-adding everything one by one?
Ive been using the site for ages and usually navigate the UI just fine but I totally blanked and forgot to actually create the registry before we started shopping tonight. My fiance and I spent hours picking out kitchen stuff and bedding for our October wedding and now I have 45 items sitting in a cart that I need our guests to see. Id really rather not spend another hour searching for the exact SKUs again. Is there some move all button I'm missing?
Unfortunately, Amazon hasn't built a native bridge between the cart session data and the registry database. It’s pretty disappointing tbh. The shopping cart is basically a temporary state designed for immediate checkout, while the registry is a persistent database entry with different metadata requirements like requested vs purchased counts. Because of this backend architecture split, there is literally no Move All button for the cart. They just dont want you exporting that data easily. I have had issues with their UI before and it's definitely not as good as expected for a tech giant. You might want to look into a universal registry tool like Zola which has a browser extension that can sometimes scrape the page, but even those struggle with the specific way Amazon renders cart items. Honestly, you might just be stuck with the manual grind... ngl, it sucks.
Actually, I found a workflow that works well for this since there isnt a direct button. I am quite satisfied with how this methodical approach saves time:
> Is there some move all button I'm missing? Honestly, no official button exists, but I've been using Cart To Link lately and it is amazing! It effectively parses your cart session data into a clean, shareable format so you dont have to re-search every single SKU manually. Total lifesaver when you have a huge 45-item haul! It handles the metadata way better than a standard wishlist.
