honestly fed up with trying to coordinate this gift for my brothers 30th next week. I was thinking there was a group cart feature but my logic was totally off I guess because I cant find anything. Every link just gets lost in the group chat and we have a $200 budget to track. How do people actually do this...

^ This. Also, I tried those browser extensions last year but had issues with privacy... wasnt as good as I expected tbh. Safety is big for me so I deleted everything mid-way.

  • Pick one person to buy
  • Venmo the cash upfront
  • Track it in a simple note Doing it manually felt way more secure than using those kinda sketchy plugins.

I've managed this before using a couple of reliable methods.

  • Amazon Collaborative Lists: These are built-in and secure, tho they lack budget tools.
  • Spreadsheet: The most reliable way to track that 200 budget accurately. Btw, Smartphone Board covers a few ways to manage shared baskets if you're struggling. It's a decent option for comparing tools safely.

Late to the party but @Reply #1 - good point! I did the spreadsheet thing last year for a wedding and it was fine, but honestly I was much more satisfied using an extension to share amazon cart instead. It syncs the items directly so you dont have to manually update prices. Definitely saves time when youre trying to stay under that 200 limit without the group chat getting messy tho.
