Has anyone heard any credible rumors about when Sony might release the next model in their a7 full-frame mirrorless camera line?
I think Sony a7 V will be announced in late 2024 to early 2025.
Based on latest rumors, we may not see a7 V until 2025. The long awaited Sony ZV-E10 II is still haven't released !
Building on the earlier suggestion, i actually disagree with the idea of waiting until 2025 based on rumors alone. I've been shooting Sony for over a decade and chasing release dates is a losing game. The current gen is already so good that the jump to a v5 might not even be that huge for most people. If you're sitting on older tech and need to upgrade, these are better moves than waiting:
Regarding what #5 said about "Could released after Nikon released Z6III." - unfortunately, Sony is really dragging their feet and it is getting frustrating for those of us who actually care about sensor readout speeds. Ngl, the rolling shutter on the current a7 IV is pretty disappointing for fast action, and I am disappointed we havent seen a stacked sensor rumor for the V yet. If you actually need performance right now, stop waiting for a camera that doesnt exist. Honestly, just look at the Sony a9 II 24.2MP Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera if you need that speed, or grab the Sony a7R V 61MP Mirrorless Camera for the updated AI processing. Both are gonna outperform a hypothetical a7 V in most technical metrics anyway. Waiting for 2025 is basically just wasting shooting time.
No one can tell the real release date, just stay tuned for more info. My guess is sometime in 2025.
Could released after Nikon released Z6III.
Just hope a7v will coming out in early 2025.
