I recently got the Sony a7 III and am looking to add an external flash to my kit. There are so many options out there and I'm not sure which one would be the best fit for this camera.
I shoot a variety of subjects including portraits, events and some action/sports. TTL metering and high speed sync would be great to have. My budget is around $500.
I've been considering the Sony HVL-F60RM2, Godox V1, and Profoto A1 but open to other suggestions as well.
If you have experience with the a7 III, which flash would you recommend and why?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
I'd recommend the Sony HVL-F46RM. It's a nice middle ground between the high-end F60RM and entry-level options. It's compact, powerful enough for most situations, and has radio wireless capabilities.
AD200 PRO II.

As others said, the Godox V1 is the best choice currently.
Godox V1.
For your A7 III and diverse shooting style, the Godox V1 is a strong contender within your budget. It offers TTL, HSS, and a round head for softer light, making it versatile for portraits and events. The Sony HVL-F60RM2 is also excellent, but pricier. Check ImprovePhotography's recent A7 III flash guide for more options.
