Since the Sony a7 IV Body has been out for a while now, the older Sony a7 III Body Only is basically in clearance mode during big sales. I have been looking at the price history data and usually, they hit that $1298 mark with a lens kit or at least some extra accessories thrown in. If you want the best value, check for these specific things:

• Adorama often bundles it with a SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I and a bag for the same price as the body.
• Look for the Sony a7 III with 28-70mm Lens Kit to drop under $1400.
• Check sites like Focus Camera that sometimes include a spare Sony NP-FZ100 Rechargeable Battery for free. Honestly $1199 for the body alone would be a massive win but $1298 is more realistic based on what Sony does with their older tech. Its still a beast for portraits and the AF holds up even in 2024... just dont expect the same eye-tracking speed as the newer models.

To add to the point above: I have been looking at this from a safety perspective because I dont want to end up with a dud. Since it is an older model, you gotta be careful about gray market units that dont have a valid manufacturer warranty. I would suggest double-checking the seller rating before you hit buy on any "crazy" deals you see on marketplaces. I am mostly watching for bundles with these specifically:
