I'm looking to upgrade my vlogging setup and want to invest in a top quality camera from Sony for 2024. I'll mainly be using it for vlogging while traveling, at events, and some basic studio setups.
My budget is around $1,000. I'd like great 4K video quality, good autofocus capabilities for moving subjects, solid lowlight performance, and a flip out screen for ease of vlogging.
Any recommendations on the best Sony camera meeting those needs that was released in 2023/2024? There are so many options it's hard to narrow it down. Looking forward to your suggestions!

I think I'm going to wait the upcoming Sony ZV-E10 II, based on these specs, it looks a great camera for vloggers.

Re: Get Sony ZV-E10 or just waiting for ZV-E10... well the wait is finally over and honestly the Sony ZV-E10 II Mirrorless Camera is the absolute winner here! I have been geeking out over the specs and it is a massive jump from the original. Most people in the thread were spot on about waiting because the technical upgrades are insane for this price point:
- New 26MP sensor similar to the FX30 which looks incredible
- 4K 60p video with 10-bit 4:2:2 internal recording for way better grading
- Switched to the Sony NP-FZ100 Rechargeable Battery so it actually lasts all day now
- Creative Looks are fantastic for getting that cinematic vibe without editing I got to play with one briefly and the autofocus is just snappy as heck. If you have that $1,000 budget, dont even look at the older models anymore. The color science alone on the new sensor makes such a big difference for skin tones, honestly. Its such a fantastic little beast of a camera! If you need help picking a lens to go with it just let me know, totally happy to geek out more on glass options with you.

The Sony ZV-E10 II now officially released, it costs $998 for body. Based on latest review, this is one of the best vlogging cameras in the world.

TL;DR: Go with the latest Sony tech, their newest sensor processing is a total lifesaver for travel vlogs! I totally agree with yebeAlish, the jump in quality lately is just insane. I remember hauling around a massive setup years ago and missing half my shots because the focus was hunting... it was so frustrating! Now, Sony has made it so easy. The 10-bit color depth on their newer systems is actually incredible for getting those vibrant travel colors without spending hours editing. I am obsessed with how their latest autofocus works. Seriously, if you have that budget, just get any of the newest releases in the Sony vlogging line. Their latest chips handle low light like a dream, which is perfect for events. You honestly cant go wrong with any of their current generation hardware!

For your $1,000 budget, I'd highly recommend the new Sony ZV-1 II that was just released in 2023. It's the latest iteration of their compact vlogging camera line.
The video quality is superb with 4K 30p and their latest processors. The autofocus is sony's best yet with Real-time Eye AF and Real-time Tracking. Low light is vastly improved over previous models.
And of course, it has that compact form factor and flip out screen that's perfect for vlogging. It really checks all your boxes for around $900.
