I'm looking to upgrade my setup for YouTube and Instagram content. Budget is around $1500-2000. Need something with excellent video quality (4K), good low-light performance, and reliable autofocus for solo shooting.
Which Sony camera has served you best as a content creator? Any issues with overheating during longer shoots? And what lens would you recommend pairing with it for that cinematic look while maintaining portability?

Honestly, if you're worried about reliability and overheating during long takes, I’d look at the Sony Alpha 7 IV. Since you're posting in the full-frame section, this is basically the gold standard workhorse. Ngl, it feels way more solid in the hand than the dedicated vlogging lines, and the low-light performance on that sensor is top-tier for the price. I’ve done long 4K sessions and it’s been super stable for me—just make sure you set the 'Auto Power Off Temp' to High and keep the screen flipped out to help with heat dissipation. The autofocus is honestly magic for solo shooting, you won't have to worry about missing focus while you're in front of the lens. For a lens, check out the Sony FE 20mm F1.8 G. It's wide enough for vlogging but fast enough to give you that nice blurry background (bokeh) for a cinematic look. It's a bit of an investment but totally worth it for the quality. TL;DR: Grab a Sony Alpha 7 IV for the best balance of reliability and full-frame quality!!
