@whiteq I bought RS 4 last week, a great upgrade for RS3.

@whiteq Just saw the review of DJI RS 4 Pro from Youtube, seem this gimbal is a good choice for a7SIII.

tbh everyone just defaults to DJI but there are some solid alternatives that might fit your workflow better. I've been looking at the specs for a few others lately and they hold up well against the a7S III.

  • Moza AirCross 3 Professional Kit
  • This one is super versatile since it transforms into four different positions. It handles up to 3.2kg which is plenty for the a7S III even with a cage and a decent lens.
  • Feiyu SCORP Pro 3-Axis Gimbal
  • If you do a lot of low-angle work, the built-in underslung handle is a lifesaver. It also has a detachable remote control handle which is a nice tech touch.
  • Manfrotto MVG300XM Modular Gimbal
  • A bit more niche but the modularity is cool for jib setups since you can control it from the handle while it is mounted far away. The Moza is usually a bit lighter for travel while the Feiyu feels more ergonomic for long shoots. Both are decent options if you want to skip the DJI ecosystem... basically depends on your grip preference.

The new released DJI RS 4 Pro is the best choice for Sony a7S III for professional video.

For high-end gimbal and professional use, I suggest u to get the RS 4 Pro.

If you're looking for the best gimbal stabilization for your Sony a7SIII, I highly recommend considering the DJI RS 3 Pro or the DJI RS 3. Both of these gimbals offer excellent performance and features that cater to the needs of Sony a7SIII users.

DJI RS 3 Pro:

  • Payload capacity of up to 4.5 kg (9.9 lbs), making it suitable for heavier camera setups like the Sony a7SIII with larger lenses
  • Supports a wide range of camera and lens combinations
  • Features a 1.8-inch OLED touchscreen for easy navigation and settings adjustment
  • Offers advanced features like automated time-lapse, motion control, and ActiveTrack 3.0 for subject tracking
  • Includes a briefcase handle for low-angle shots and a Ronin 4D Image Transmitter for remote control and monitoring

DJI RS 3:

  • Payload capacity of up to 3 kg (6.6 lbs), suitable for the Sony a7SIII and most common lens combinations
  • Compact and lightweight design, making it easier to transport and handle during shoots
  • Features a 1.8-inch OLED touchscreen for intuitive operation
  • Supports various shooting modes, including portrait orientation and underslung mode
  • Offers a battery life of up to 12 hours, ensuring extended shooting sessions

Both the DJI RS 3 Pro and DJI RS 3 provide excellent stabilization performance, with advanced algorithms and motors that ensure smooth and steady footage. They also offer a range of creative features and compatibility with the DJI Ronin app for customization and remote control.

Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on your specific needs. If you plan on using heavier lenses or require the additional features and payload capacity, the DJI RS 3 Pro would be the better option. However, if you prioritize portability and have a more standard camera setup, the DJI RS 3 is a fantastic choice.

Both gimbals are compatible with the Sony a7SIII and will provide you with excellent stabilization for your creative projects.

Besides DJI gimbals, I also love Zhiyun gimbals.

My old DJI RS 3 still works great on a7S III.

For the Sony a7S III, one of the best gimbal stabilizers available is the DJI RS 2. It offers excellent stabilization, a robust build quality, and a range of features including focus control and a lightweight design suitable for the a7S III's size and weight. Another great option is the Zhiyun Crane 3S, known for its strong payload capacity and smooth performance, ideal for heavier setups or professional videography needs. Both gimbals provide reliable stabilization to enhance your shooting experience with the Sony a7S III.
