I recently purchased a Sony a7 IV and I'm planning a trip around Europe. I'm looking for recommendations on the best travel lens (or lenses) to pair with this camera. I enjoy shooting a variety of subjects, including landscapes, architecture, and street photography. Ideally, I'd like something versatile without sacrificing too much image quality. I'm considering the Sony 24-105mm f/4 G OSS, but I'm open to other options. What are your experiences with travel lenses for the a7 IV? Any suggestions for a good balance between range, weight, and performance?

Sony 20-70mm G or Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8. (Depends how much you want to pay for)

No way, I literally just dealt with this yesterday. Small world.

For travel, I've found the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II to be a game-changer. The f/2.8 aperture is excellent for low light scenarios and creating shallow depth of field. It's a bit heavier, but the image quality is exceptional. If weight is a concern, the Sony FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS is a lighter alternative with great performance as well.

Budget-conscious traveler here! The Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 Contemporary has been fantastic on my a7 IV. It's much more affordable than Sony's options while delivering excellent image quality and it's surprisingly compact. If you need more reach, their 100-400mm Contemporary is also great value when you need telephoto capabilities.
