I just picked up the new Sony ZV-E10 camera for vlogging and want to get a good external microphone to improve the audio quality. The built-in mic is decent but I'd like something better, especially for outdoor shooting. Any recommendations on a good mic to pair with this camera? Ideally something compact and easy to connect.

I use Sennheiser mke 400, it works well on my ZV-1.

For enhancing your Sony ZV-E10's audio, especially outdoors, consider the Rode VideoMicro II. It's compact, battery-free, and includes a windshield for wind noise reduction. Alternatively, the Sennheiser MKE 400 offers excellent sound quality and durability.

If you're serious about audio quality and don't mind a slightly bulkier setup, the Rode NTG5 is fantastic. It's a broadcast-quality shotgun mic that will give you professional-level audio. It's a bit pricier, but the sound quality is worth it if your budget allows.
