Hey everyone! I just recently upgraded to the Sony ZV-E10 II and I'm absolutely loving the improved autofocus and the better battery life. However, I’ve run into a bit of a snag when it comes to framing my vlogs. Since I mostly shoot handheld or on a small tripod while walking, the 16-50mm kit lens feels a bit too tight, especially when I turn on Active Stabilization or shoot in 4K 60p where there's that extra crop.
I’m looking for a lens that gives me a much wider field of view so I don't just look like a giant floating head! I’ve been researching the Sony E 11mm f/1.8 because of that fast aperture for low-light situations, but the 10-20mm f/4 PZ G also seems tempting because of the power zoom and versatility. My main priority is keeping the setup lightweight for travel, but I also want that 'pro' look with some background blur if possible. My budget is around $500-$700.
For those of you already using the ZV-E10 II for content creation, which wide-angle lens has been your go-to? Do you think the 11mm prime is wide enough to handle the 4K crop, or is the 10-20mm zoom the better all-around choice for daily vlogging?
> I’m looking for a lens that gives me a much wider field of view... Do you think the 11mm prime is wide enough to handle the 4K crop, or is the 10-20mm zoom the better all-around choice? Ok so, quick reply while I have a sec. Here's what I recommend: for the Sony ZV-E10 II, you basically gotta go with the Sony E 11mm f/1.8. I’ve looked at the specs and that 4K 60p crop plus Active Stabilization is no joke—it really eats into ur frame. Tbh, the Sony E 10-20mm f/4 PZ G is technically more versatile, but if you want that "pro" look with background blur, an f/4 aperture on an APS-C sensor isn't gonna cut it. The 11mm prime is super sharp and the f/1.8 is LITERALLY a lifesaver for low light or just getting that nice bokeh. Even with the crop, 11mm is wide enough so you aren't just a giant head... lol. It fits your budget and is light enough for travel. Just make sure your careful with the lens flares. good luck!
basically crop factor zooms you in. I'm super happy with the Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary for $599. it’s cheaper than G glass and that f/2.8 is *perfect* for blur! gl
