I am in a massive rush right now because my daughters birthday party is literally tomorrow and I have to get this order placed in the next 30 minutes to get the overnight delivery here to Philly. The problem is I spent my entire lunch break adding stuff to the cart on my iPhone but now that I am on my PC to finally check out and use my saved company card half the stuff is missing. I have like 15 items on my phone but only 4 on my desktop and they are both definitely logged into the same prime account.
I searched for a fix and saw some people saying to just log out and log back in to force a sync but I tried that twice and it didnt do anything except make me nervous I would lose the cart items entirely. I also read a blog post that said there is supposed to be a popup that asks to merge your carts if it detects different items on different devices but I never got that notification and I have refreshed the page a million times now. I really dont have time to go back and search for every individual streamer and gift again especially since some were limited time deals and my budget is tight so I need those discounts.
Does anyone know how to actually get these two carts to sync up manually or is there a way to force the mobile cart to show up on my desktop so I can just pay?
Just catching up on this thread. @Reply #1 - good point about the merge popup being unreliable. To be safe, are you using the Amazon app or just a browser on your phone? I would suggest this:
Honestly, Amazons cart sync has been getting worse lately. Ive had issues with this so many times and its super annoying when youre on a deadline. Unfortunately, that merge cart popup is basically a myth at this point... it rarely shows up when you actually need it. I totally agree with the people saying the log-out method is a waste of time, it usually just causes more panic than its worth.
This whole sync issue is a nightmare, unfortunately. I had a similar disaster last Christmas trying to bundle stuff for my nephews and Amazon just decided my desktop cart didnt need to know about anything I added on my iPad. It was so disappointing because I missed out on a lightning deal while I was busy refreshing and logging back in like a crazy person. The tech behind it is just not as good as expected lately... basically it caches your session locally on the phone until you actually move to the final checkout screen. If those items are limited deals, be careful. Sometimes clicking the link from your phones recently viewed section on the desktop site works better than waiting for the cart to catch up. For future reference, I dont even trust the cart for my budget planning anymore. I just use PriceDropCatch to keep track of everything and it pings me when the price hits what I want to pay. It saves so much stress compared to fighting with their buggy interface when you are in a rush. Honestly, if the Save for Later trick fails, just try emailing the product links to yourself from the share button on the app. Its tedious but its the only way to be 100% sure you dont lose those specific listings before your 30 minutes are up.
I've dealt with this exact mess every Prime Day for years. Using share amazon cart always works well and I'm honestly satisfied with how it handles the sync issues. Amazons app often keeps your cart data on the phones local storage instead of the cloud tho, which is why your PC is blank. Generating a shareable link forces the server to acknowledge the items so you dont have to search again.
Came here to say the same thing lol. Great minds think alike I guess.
