Is there a reliable Chrome extension for tracking eBay price drops?

I've been trying to snag a refurbished ThinkPad T14 for my college classes starting in three weeks. My budget is strictly under 300 dollars and I keep missing these sudden price drops by just a few hours because ebays own watch list notifications are basically useless and arrive way too late. It is so frustrating watching the deal slip away.

I need a Chrome extension that actually alerts me instantly. I'm torn between Karma and this dedicated one called eBay Price Tracker. Karma seems okay but it feels super bloated now with all their coupon stuff and ads, and I really just want price alerts. On the other hand, eBay Price Tracker looks a bit sketchy and hasn't been updated in forever so I'm worried it might not even work anymore.

Is there a reliable Chrome extension for tracking eBay price drops that actually works in real-time, or should I stick to one of these two?

Over the years, I've prioritized safety. Definitely try this eBay price tracker:

  • Alerts are instant
  • No sketchy permissions required

Just saw this thread and wanted to chime in. @Reply #2 - good point! Distill is super powerful, but honestly, if you are trying to stay under that 300 dollar limit, you gotta be careful with local trackers since they only work when your computer is awake. If a seller lists a cheap buy-it-now T14 at 3 AM while youre asleep, you'll still miss out. For ebay, the real trick to getting cheap refurbished gear is tracking search results, not single product listings. Refurbished stock changes constantly. Tracking one specific listing wont help when a new seller dumps a cheap batch of off-lease laptops under a completely new listing. You want a tool that monitors the search page itself, filtered by "newly listed" and "under 300". Definitely avoid the bloated stuff. I just added PriceDropCatch to my browser and it's saved me a decent amount on car parts so far.

OMG you should try Distill.io! I use the free version and it is amazing for tracking specific page changes. Heres how to set it up:

  • Install the Distill Web Monitor extension
  • Click the price on the eBay listing to track it
  • Set it to check every 10 minutes It runs locally in your browser so its super fast and has zero ads!
