Which browser extension works best for tracking eBay price drops over time?

I’ve been trying to find a decent deal on a Fujifilm X-T20 for like three months now and honestly eBay is driving me crazy with the constant price fluctuations. I’m trying to stay under $400 for a used body but every time I find something even close it’s either a bidding war that jumps $100 in the last ten seconds or the Buy It Now price is just way too high compared to what it was selling for a month ago. I spend way too much time refreshing my watch list only to find out the price dropped and someone else snatched it up while I was asleep or at work. It’s so annoying because eBay's own Watch notifications are super hit or miss. Sometimes I get an email, sometimes I don't, and usually it's way after the fact.

I looked into some tools online and Keepa keeps coming up in search results but obviously that’s only for Amazon so it’s basically useless for me right now. I also saw some people mention Honey or even CamelCamelCamel (which is also Amazon only, why do people keep suggesting that for everything??) and then I tried this thing called Karma but it seems like it's just trying to find me coupons or cashback deals instead of actually tracking the price history of the specific item I want. I want to see a chart. I want to see if the seller has been dropping the price by $10 every week or if they just hiked it up before putting it on sale.

I'm based in the US and really need to get this sorted in the next two weeks before I go on a trip. I just want to see a graph or get a ping the second a seller actually lowers their price so I can grab it before someone else does. Is there a specific Chrome extension or even a website that actually specializes in eBay's price history and alerts? Everything I find feels like it's from 2015 and doesnt work with the modern site layout anymore. What are you guys actually using for this...

eBay is a bit of a minefield with price trackers because of how the listings change, so you really have to be careful what you install. Honestly, most of those old extensions are basically broken now or just trying to scrape your data.

  • Stick to the Sold Items filter on the sidebar. It is the only way to see the real market value instead of just what sellers are wishing for.
  • Use the Terapeak research tool in the seller hub if you can. It gives you a way better graph of actual sales over the last year.
  • Set up a Saved Search with a price ceiling of $400 and turn on push notifications for the mobile app. Its usually faster than the emails. I would suggest being very cautious with any extension asking for full browser access. Just make sure you double check the seller history too... a low price sometimes means a scam or a broken sensor. Better to be safe than sorry when hunting for a deal.
