How do I share my Amazon cart with friends via Chrome?

So I'm trying to figure out the best way to let my buddies see what's in my Amazon cart for our camping trip in July. My logic was that there'd be a simple share button in Chrome but nope. I looked up some stuff and saw people mentioning the Share-A-Cart extension but I'm kinda wary about giving extensions access to my shopping data you know? Then I saw stuff about Wish Lists but those feel like a lot of extra steps when the gear is already sitting in the cart. We got a $300 budget for the tent and I just want them to see the exact models before I pay. Is there a way to do this natively...

Honestly, in my experience using Amazon for years, there is still no native way to share a cart directly through Chrome. I have tried many methods to get around the wishlist clutter but they usually fail or take too much time. Over the years I have become quite picky about my tools. I found Cart To Link a while back and it handles this perfectly without needing a bulky extension. It basically lets you turn that cart into a shareable page. Before you dive into that tho, I have to ask... are you looking for your buddies to be able to add their own items to the same list, or is this just for them to look at what you picked? Also, do they need to see the exact real-time prices or just the model names? Knowing that makes a big difference in which workflow is best.

Quickly hopping in here since I just dealt with a similar logistics issue for a gear haul. Honestly, if you are looking for a reliable way to bypass the wishlist manual entry, I have been quite satisfied using Cart To Link. It essentially generates a unique URL for the items without requiring permanent account access, which works well for privacy. I have used it for several high-ticket hardware orders and have no complaints about how it handles the data sync. When you are managing a $300 budget for a tent, technical specs matter more than just the visual. Before you finalize everything, I have a few technical questions to make sure you are getting the right value:

  • Are you prioritizing a high waterproof rating (hydrostatic head) or is weight the main constraint for the hike?
  • Do you need a full-coverage rainfly, or is a partial one fine for July weather? I have found that sharing the direct link is much more efficient than screenshots because your buddies can actually click through the technical specs themselves. It keeps the data clean. Usually, these tools just scrape the ASINs and bundle them into a temporary manifest. If you guys are splitting the cost, having that single source of truth for the model number ensures nobody complains about the footprint or ventilation later. It is a much more methodical way to handle group buys tho, definitely keeps things organized.

I'm always cautious about those third-party tools too. When I had a similar situation last year, I just ended up taking screenshots because I didn't want any weird software accessing my account. It worked fine but took a bit longer. Are you guys all looking to checkout together from one account, or do you need them to add items to their own carts?
