I am honestly so fed up with how amazon handles separate accounts because my fiancé and I are trying to prep for our move to a new place in Chicago next month and its just a total mess. Im so excited to get everything set up but we keep adding the same stuff or losing track of what the other person found. I have like fifty items in my cart and he has a whole different set on his and there is no easy way to just merge them so we can see the total and not double buy stuff.

Is it actually possible to sync carts between two different amazon accounts or are we just stuck doing this manually?

Jumping in here because this brings back some serious moving trauma lol. Honestly, I had such high hopes for Amazon Household when we moved last year, but its been super disappointing. They just dont let you merge carts because they treat every account ID as a separate silo for tracking. Its basically a legacy system thing where carts are tied to your specific user session. My partner and I ended up buying two sets of curtains because we lost track of who put what where. It sucked. Before I dive into the messy workarounds, are you guys actually linked through a Household account yet or just using two independent logins? Heres why it stays so difficult:

  • Amazon wants to track individual habits for their ads
  • Checkout is tied to your specific payment methods
  • Carts arent cloud-synced across different IDs even if you share Prime
