So my boyfriend and I just moved into this cute little place in Austin and we are super stoked to finally get it all set up!! We have like a $1500 budget for all the boring adult stuff like a new microwave and some area rugs and maybe a decent vacuum since our old one literally started smoking lol. We need to get everything ordered by the end of the month before our housewarming party and honestly we are arguing about the best way to do it on Amazon.
Im leaning towards just making a huge Wishlist because it feels cleaner and we can see everything in one spot but he thinks we should just share a login and dump everything into the cart so we can see the total price with tax and everything right away. Im kinda worried about the shared cart thing because what if one of us accidentally buys the whole cart before weve actually decided on the colors or compared prices on everything?? Also the wishlist thing seems easier for keeping track of stuff we might want later but arent ready to pull the trigger on yet. But then again seeing that total in the cart helps us stay under that $1500 limit. We tried the Amazon Household thing but it feels a bit clunky for just picking out house stuff together.
- Option 1: Shared Wishlist (cleaner, better for comparing)
- Option 2: Just one shared cart (faster, shows the real total)
Which one do you guys think is actually more efficient for a couple trying to furnish a whole place fast without going over budget?

Wishlists are amazing for safety! We bought everything by mistake once. Total disaster tho...

Omg moving to Austin is literally the dream!! My boyfriend and I did the same thing last year and honestly it was so chaotic but also amazing. We were trying to stay under a super strict limit and seeing that big total at the bottom is the only thing that kept us sane lol. We actually ended up using Share-A-Cart to keep everything synced up across our accounts. It was fantastic because I could be at work adding stuff I found and he could see the price jump in real time on his end!! Seeing that final number with the taxes really put things into perspective... like we realized we had to choose between a fancy rug or the good microwave. Tbh doing it that way made us way more careful with our money. Such a huge win for us!

Moving is so exciting! We were in the same boat last year and honestly found that wishlists are better for comparing, but you definitely need a way to share Amazon carts to see that final total. It works so well for keeping us on budget.
- Use lists for the big items
- Move to cart only when sure
- Check the total together We are super satisfied with this setup and it totally saved us from any buying disasters!
