I'm constantly hitting the wrong buttons in the dark and it's making me so anxious. I'm torn between the official Sony RMF-TX621U and the Sofabaton U2 but I'm scared the Sofabaton will be a nightmare to program. My budget is $50 and I need it by Friday. Which one works best for a new Sony?
To add to the point above: skip the U2! The Sony RMF-TX900U Backlit Voice Remote is amazing because it uses Bluetooth 5.0 for zero-lag response. Native remotes just feel way more responsive!
Building on the earlier suggestion, I bought the Sony RMF-TX621U Backlit Voice Remote for $45.

Honestly, its a joke that Sony still packs those cheap, non-backlit remotes with their TVs. I tried the Sofabaton U2 Universal Remote Control and it was not as good as expected. The companion app setup is a total mess and I had issues with the Bluetooth connection dropping constantly during the initial sync. Its just frustrating to use daily. If you want something that actually works without the stress, just get the Sony RMF-TX621U Backlit Voice Remote Control. Its the only way to go for a modern Sony setup. Unfortunately, the plastic feels a bit cheaper than the older premium metal remotes, but it solves your dark room problem immediately. Since its an official part, there is zero programming needed for your TV. You can usually find it for around $48 online, so it fits your budget perfectly. Skip the third-party stuff, its just not worth the headache.
