my gym headphones literally snapped this morning and i have a huge training block starting tomorrow so i need a replacement fast. im torn between the sony xm4 over-ears and the linkbuds s but i cant decide if the over-ears will just slide off my face the second i start sweating or doing sprints. budget is like $250-300 max. id love the xm5 but they look kinda flimsy for high intensity stuff like burpees and running. which one is actually gonna stay on my head when i'm moving fast and drenched in sweat? i need to order these tonight or i'm screwed for my long run...

I'm satisfied with Sony LinkBuds S Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds. Last week they stayed totally secure during my long run.

  • zero movement
  • very reliable Over-ears just slide too much...

Regarding what #1 said about being satisfied with the LinkBuds S, you might want to be very careful with over-ears like the Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise Canceling Over-the-Ear Headphones for your sprints. They dont have an official IP rating for sweat resistance, so you could basically ruin the internal electronics if you are training that hard. I would suggest looking at more budget-friendly in-ear models that are actually built for high-intensity movement.

  • Sony WF-C700N Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds: These are much lighter and way cheaper than your max budget, so you wont feel as bad if they take a beating during burpees.
  • Sony WF-1000XM4 Noise Canceling Earbuds: You can usually find these on sale now for under $200 and the foam tips are incredibly secure for running. Make sure you prioritize that IPX4 rating for your long runs. It is generally safer to avoid bulky headphones that might slide and cause a distraction or fall off mid-stride. Tbh, it is better to play it safe and stick to something designed for moisture and heavy movement.
