So I finally pulled the trigger on the a7C II for my b-cam and got an FX3 for the main rig and I am so hyped for this Japan trip in three weeks but man... my old Crane 2 is a total tank and I really dont want to lug that thing around Tokyo. I usually run the FX3 with the XLR handle which is a nightmare for small motors sometimes so I need something compact that can actually balance it without freaking out. I was looking at the RS3 Mini or maybe the Crane M3S? Budget is around $400-500 since I just dropped way too much on glass. Will the RS3 Mini actually hold the FX3 with the top handle on or is that just wishful thinking...

Honestly, the DJI RS 3 Mini 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer is a beast for its size and it fits the a7C II perfectly. But for the FX3 with that XLR handle? Its kinda wishful thinking if you want a perfect balance. The handle makes the rig really top-heavy and the clearance on the tilt axis is pretty tight... you might get it to work with a tiny lens, but its not exactly ideal for a long trip where you want things to just work. The Zhiyun Weebill 3S Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer is probably a better middle ground. It fits your $400-500 budget and the motors are much stronger than the Zhiyun Crane M3S 3-Axis Gimbal. That one handles the FX3 height way better than the Mini does. It is a bit heavier, but thats the trade-off for motor strength. Japan is gonna be amazing tho, just make sure to practice the balance before you fly out!

Good to know!
