So I finally upgraded to the a1 and it's a beast but honestly I'm struggling with the weight now. Been using gimbals for years and never had an issue balancing my old A7IV but this new setup with the 50mm 1.2 is just... wow.
My logic was that my current RSC2 would handle it if I stripped the cage off but the roll axis is literally vibrating during fast pans. I'm doing this big coastal wedding shoot in Oregon in three weeks and I need to lock this down ASAP. Was looking at the RS4 Pro because of the payload specs but then I saw the Crane 4 and now I'm torn. Is the DJI ecosystem worth the extra cash for the a1 or is there a better heavy lifter?
Honestly skip the DJI tax if you wanna save cash! I switched to the Zhiyun Crane 4 Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer for my heavy rigs and it's amazing. It handles the a1 and big glass like a champ without any vibration. Its way cheaper than the RS4 Pro and handles the weight way better imo. Save that money for your trip and grab this beast!
^ This. Also, adding my two cents from years of shooting wedding gigs... I found that grabbing a DJI RS 3 Pro Gimbal Stabilizer used is the smartest budget move right now.
Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.
