Should I buy the original FX3 or just wait the upcoming Sony FX3 II, anyone can tell me about the release date of this camera ?
Rumors suggest that the camera could be announced in 2024 to 2025, indicating that it's in the pipeline but may still be a while away from launch.
I've been tracking Sony product cycles since the original A7S days and honestly, they rarely rush these cinema line updates. In my experience, once they launch something high-end like the Sony Burano 8K Digital Cinema Camera, the tech takes a good year or two to trickle down to the compact bodies. The betting man says we wont see an FX3 II until well into 2025 because the Sony FX3 Cinema Line Camera is still selling like crazy and doesnt have much competition in that specific form factor yet. Memories of waiting for the Sony A7S III for years still haunt me... the wait was brutal and definitely not worth the missed shooting days. Unless Sony manages to fit a stacked sensor with sub-5ms readout speeds into that shell without it melting, they'll likely hold off. If you are cross-shopping, even the Panasonic Lumix S5IIX offers better internal recording options for the price right now, tho the Sony AF keeps most of us locked in. Quick tip: buy for the projects you have today, not the specs you might get in eighteen months. Also, always check the thermal limits and sensor readout speeds on these small bodies before committing.
I think FX3 II will be released in the first half of 2024. let's wait and see.
@ivy It seems FX3 Mark II will not coming first half of 2024 now, expected to be released in late 2024 to early 2025 now.
In 2025 I guess.
So will there still be a a7S IV, or FX3 II and a7S IV will be a new camera with both features ?
I will this camera will come out in April 2024
