Building on the earlier suggestion about the May 29th date, I'd say you definitely need to be quick, but honestly its ridiculous how the prices just keep climbing. Drives me crazy that we're all expected to just accept these massive markups for what feels like minor iterative updates. I've been looking at what other brands are doing lately, and Sony is starting to feel like they're charging a brand tax without the build quality to back it up. Its such a scam how these pre-order cycles work now... you pay top dollar to be a beta tester for their buggy firmware. Might want to consider if the hype is actually worth the hit to your wallet because these companies really dont care about the working pro anymore, just the influencers who get the gear for free. It makes me wonder if the value is even there anymore compared to older, more reliable bodies.

^ This. Also, beatcannon is spot on about that brand tax. Its getting totally out of hand lately. In my experience though, the real trap is that pre-order panic where people start looking at sketchy sites just because the big stores are sold out. Honestly, over the years Ive seen so many folks get burned by gray market sellers who wont honor a warranty or just disappear with your deposit. Ngl, I usually wait a bit anyway. I like to do a lot of my own gear maintenance and rig building, and being an early adopter feels like being a glorified beta tester. I want to see the teardowns first to make sure the internal cooling actually works before I commit. If you do go for it, just be super careful about where you put your credit card info... if the deal looks too good to be true, it definitely is.
