I just got the Sony a7R V and those 61MP RAW files are massive! I’m worried about the buffer slowing me down during high-res bursts. Are V90 SD cards like the Sony Tough series fast enough, or should I just invest in CFexpress Type A? What cards do you recommend for reliable, high-speed performance?

Seconding the recommendation above. Honestly, if ur doing heavy bursts, V90 cards feel pretty sluggish on the a7R V... Ive used them for years and the buffer lag is real. I would suggest: 1. Lexar Professional CFexpress Type A Card GOLD Series 320GB
2. ProGrade Digital 160GB CFexpress Type A Memory Card Basically, CFexpress is a MUST for those 61MP files if u hate waiting around!!

Huge files CHOKE V90s... Pro tip: check *Alpha Shooters* for Delkin Devices 160GB BLACK CFexpress Type A Memory Card tests; it's way cheaper than those brands mentioned before, right?

In my experience, I've tried many cards and seen buffers freeze up at the worst moments, which is tbh scary. For your situation, I would suggest: - Sony 160GB CFexpress Type A TOUGH Memory Card: Fastest and most reliable for 61MP bursts.
- Sony TOUGH 128GB UHS-II V90 SDXC Memory Card: Cheaper, but slower clearing might fail you. Lesson learned: dont risk it. The CFexpress is realy the safer bet for high-res.
