I'm looking to invest in a new Sony full frame camera primarily for travel photography. I want something that is compact and lightweight for easy portability, but also delivers excellent image quality. I shoot a mix of landscapes, cityscapes, and some portraits. What do you recommend as the best Sony full frame camera for travel? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Hi there! For travel photography with a Sony full frame camera, I would highly recommend looking at the Sony a7C II. Weighing in at only 514g, the a7C II is an impressively compact and lightweight camera body, making it a fantastic choice for shooting on the go.

Despite its small size, the a7C II features a 33MP full-frame sensor that delivers outstanding image quality with wide dynamic range and excellent high ISO performance up to 51,200. Combined with the advanced BIONZ X processor, you'll be able to capture stunning landscape and cityscape shots with rich details and vivid colors.

The a7C II also has some great features for travel portraiture as well. The hybrid AF system with 759 phase and 495 contrast detection points can accurately track and capture moving subjects. Plus, Real-time Eye AF ensures pinpoint focus on eyes for lovely portrait shots.

With an impressive battery life of 530 shots per charge, you can confidently shoot all day without worrying about recharging. And the tilt touchscreen LCD makes it easy to capture creative angles whether shooting handheld or with a small travel tripod.

Overall, the Sony a7C II checks all the boxes in terms of compact size, lightweight portability, advanced autofocus, and full-frame image quality that make it a perfect travel companion. Let me know if you have any other questions!

@user6781 +1 for Sony a7C II

If you are mainly for shooting video, you'd better also take a look at ZV-E1.

Sony a7 IV is still one of the best choices when pairing with a compact zoom lens like FE 20-70mm f/4 G.

Honestly if you want the absolute best performance in a tiny body for those landscapes, you gotta check out the Sony Alpha 7CR. It is seriously amazing!! You get that massive 61MP sensor which is just insane for cropping or making big prints from your trips. I have been using one recently and the AI autofocus is basically magic... it just sticks to people and faces like glue. I love pairing mine with the Sony FE 24-50mm f/2.8 G for a super high-end setup that doesnt weigh you down when walking around all day. Tbh most people just suggest the regular a7C II but if you really want that peak image quality for your cityscapes and scenery, the 7CR is the way to go. Its definitely a beast!
