Which wireless headsets offer the best audio quality for PS4 Pro because honestly I am so confused by all the options out there. Sorry if this is a really basic question but I literally just got into gaming and I have no idea what I am looking for when it comes to specs like drivers or hertz or whatever they call them. Right now I am just using the white earbuds that came with my phone plugged into the controller and the sound is okay I guess but the wire gets stuck on my knees or my dog trips on it when she walks by so I really need to go wireless. I live in an apartment in Chicago with really thin walls so I cant really use my TV speakers late at night without the neighbors getting mad. I have about 150 dollars saved up for this and I want something that makes games like God of War sound really epic and immersive if that makes sense. Is there a specific brand that works better with Sony stuff or can I just buy anything that says wireless on the box? I saw some that have a little USB stick thing and others that dont so I am extra confused about how they even connect to the console. If anyone has suggestions for something that sounds amazing but is easy to set up for someone who isnt tech savvy at all...

I've spent way too much money on audio gear over the years, and honestly, you don't need to be a tech wizard to get great sound. That USB stick you saw is actually exactly what you want. It's called a dongle, and it's way better than standard Bluetooth because it prevents audio lag, which is huge when you're playing something fast-paced. For a 150 budget, I’d narrow it down to these two because they’re basically plug-and-play:

  • <a href=" https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt= SteelSeries+Arctis+7P%2B+Wireless+Gaming+Headset&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis 7P+ Wireless Gaming Headset
  • This is my top recommendation for any PlayStation owner. It’s got a ski-goggle headband that makes it feel weightless. In my experience, the audio is very crisp, so you'll hear every detail in God of War, from the leaves crunching to the deep bass of Kratos’ voice.
  • HyperX Cloud II Wireless Gaming Headset
  • I’ve used these for hundreds of hours. They are built like a tank and the battery lasts forever. They use 53mm drivers (the speakers inside), which gives you a really punchy, immersive sound that makes boss fights feel massive. Since you're in an apartment, both of these have closed-back designs. That basically means the sound is trapped inside the earcups, so you can crank the volume at 2 AM and your neighbors won't hear a thing. Just plug the USB into your PS4 Pro, turn the headset on, and you're good to go. Dont worry about the specs like hertz... at this price point, these brands have already done the heavy lifting for you.

Regarding what #1 said about "I've spent way too much money on audio..."

  • I definitely second that. My first big purchase was a flashy set that literally fell apart at the plastic hinge after three months. You really gotta be careful about build quality when youre looking at that $150 range. Since you have thin walls in Chicago, sound leakage is also a huge factor. You dont want your neighbors hearing Kratos screaming because your headset bleeds sound. I would suggest keeping these things in mind:
  • Look for closed-back designs to keep the sound isolated.
  • Prioritize a 2.4GHz USB dongle over regular Bluetooth for zero lag.
  • Check for physical mute buttons so you dont have to mess with menus mid-game. The HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless Gaming Headset is a solid bet because the battery lasts forever. Or maybe the <a href=" https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt= SteelSeries+Arctis+Nova+7P+Wireless+Gaming+Headset&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless Gaming Headset since its built specifically for Sony stuff. Ive had my current pair for years and honestly, being able to swap the ear pads when they get worn out saved me from buying a whole new set... definitely look for that feature.
