I honestly have no idea what I am doing here and I am so frustrated trying to find a simple stand for my PS4 Pro. My desk is tiny because I live in a super small apartment in Brooklyn and right now the console is just sitting flat and taking up literally half my workspace. I need to stand it up vertically to save room but I am terrified it is going to tip over or something. I went on Amazon and it was a total nightmare because there are so many options and I dont understand the difference between any of them. Some have these big loud fans and some charge the controllers but do I even need all that? I just want something that wont let my expensive console fall on the floor.

Sorry if this is a really dumb question but are the ones with fans actually better? I read some reviews saying the fans are super loud and actually blow dust into the machine which sounds like a disaster but then other people say the Pro gets way too hot if you dont have extra cooling. I am so confused and just want a solid recommendation for something that actually works and isnt going to break the bank.

Here is what I am looking for:

  • Budget is like 30 or 40 bucks tops
  • Needs to be really stable because I have a cat that jumps on everything
  • I dont want it to be super loud if it has fans
  • Must fit a PS4 Pro specifically
  • Hopefully available online so I can get it by next Tuesday when my new desk arrives

I keep seeing brands like Kootek or OIVO or whatever but I have never heard of them and I am worried about buying junk. Should I just buy the official Sony one if that even exists anymore? I couldnt find it anywhere. Is it better to get one that charges the controllers too or is that just more wires to deal with? My head is spinning from looking at all these listings that all look the same but have different prices. If anyone can just point me to the top rated ones that regular people actually use and trust...

Saw this earlier and had to jump in because I am obsessed with console thermals! Regarding what #1 said about "Honestly, you probably dont need those extra fans....", I actually have to disagree a bit because the PS4 Pro is basically a jet engine in a plastic box. If you're in a tiny Brooklyn apartment, heat buildup is your biggest enemy!! The Pro pulls cool air through those narrow slits on the sides and exhausts it out the back. When you stand it up, you risk blocking one of those primary intake zones. You definitely want a stand that has built-in air channels or active cooling to move that stagnant air. I'm a huge fan of the OIVO PS4 Pro Vertical Stand with Cooling Fan and Controller Charging Station because it uses a solid metal base. It is way heavier than the cheap plastic ones, which is fantastic for your cat situation! The fans on this specific model are actually pretty quiet and dont have that annoying high-pitched whine. If you want the absolute safest option for stability, try to hunt down the Sony PlayStation 4 Vertical Stand. It literally screws into the side of the console using a mounting hole Sony built specifically for this. Its rock solid. But honestly, the OIVO is amazing for the price and keeps your controllers organized too. Just make sure you get the one with the metal bottom plate... it makes a massive difference for stability!

To add to the point above: stability is key when dealing with pets. 1. Look for the Sony PlayStation 4 Vertical Stand CUH-ZST2. This model uses a mounting screw that prevents the console from being knocked over. 2. Consider the Younik PS4 Pro Vertical Stand with Cooling Fans. It has a wide base design which helps a lot. Cost-wise, these are usually under 30 bucks. Just dont use the fans if theyre too loud.

Honestly, you probably dont need those extra fans. I think I heard somewhere they actually mess with the consoles internal airflow anyway. Be careful with those cheap generic brands tho, some feel like flimsy plastic that wont survive a cat.

  • Look for a stand with a wide base
  • Skip fans if you want it quiet
  • IIRC the Pro needs a specific fit Just make sure it actually locks in or it might tip.
