What are the actual best SSDs for the PS5 and the Pro right now because I am seriously losing my mind with this storage situation.

I keep having to delete everything just to install one patch for Warzone and its honestly exhausting. I was looking at the WD Black but then saw some stuff about heat sinks and now Im just confused and over it. I’m in London and got about 150 quid to spend before the holidays so I need something fast and reliable that wont overheat. Do I really need the crazy expensive ones or is a mid range one fine for the Pro speeds? Just want to set it and forget it...

Like someone mentioned, those are pricey! Try these instead:

I went through the exact same nightmare with those massive Warzone patches. I was constantly deleting stuff until I finally picked up the Western Digital Black SN850X 2TB NVMe with Heatsink. It fits your budget perfectly and the built-in heatsink makes it a five minute install. I havent noticed any speed difference compared to the internal drive, even on the Pro, so definitely dont overthink the expensive ones.

  • I actually prefer the Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe SSD with Heatsink over the WD. Been running it for months and im super satisfied with how it handles heat in that cramped PS5 slot. The 7,450 MB/s read speeds are legit and I havent had a single crash. TL;DR: Buy the Samsung 990 Pro. It stays cooler and works perfectly for the Pro.
