So I am honestly just done with this cheap plastic tripod I bought for my ZV-1F because it literally wobbles every time there is even a tiny bit of wind. My logic was that a small camera doesnt need much support but man was I wrong.

I am heading to Tokyo in like three weeks and I desperately need something that fits in a small backpack but actually stays still when I am filming vlogs on the street. I looked at the GorillaPod things but I have heard the legs get super loose after a while which kinda scares me. I have about 80 bucks to spend. What are you guys actually using that isnt garbage? I need something sturdy but compact...

Tokyo is going to be amazing!! Honestly you are making the right call ditching that plastic junk before your trip. I am obsessed with the Ulanzi MT-16 Extendable Camera Tripod with Cold Shoe for my setup! Its super compact but feels incredibly sturdy in the hand compared to the cheap stuff. The best part is it actually extends so you can get those higher angles or use it as a selfie stick for vlogging while walking through Harajuku. It has a cold shoe mount right on the side of the ball head which is fantastic for adding a mic later on. It fits easily in a small bag and honestly just feels like it belongs with the ZV-1F. Plus its way under your 80 dollar budget! Youll love how stable it is even when you extend the neck... definitely a solid choice for street filming!

Im very satisfied with the Manfrotto PIXI EVO 2-Section Mini Tripod Aluminum. Its 2.5kg payload capacity is overkill for the ZV-1F, so its rock solid in wind. No complaints at all.

I'm dealing with the exact same thing right now tbh. Last time I went out, my portable stand couldnt handle even a slight breeze, and the micro-vibrations ruined everything. Be careful with those cheap locking mechanisms; if the tolerances are off, they just slip. I learned that trying to save a few bucks on stability usually costs you way more in lost footage later.
