What is actually the best budget prime lens for the Sony ZV-E10 because I am getting so overwhelmed with all the options? I need to start filming my first sit-down videos here in Chicago by next Friday and I only have about $300 left in my budget after buying the camera. I keep seeing people rave about the Sigma 16mm f1.4 for that blurry background look but then others say it is way too heavy and makes the ZV-E10 feel totally unbalanced. I also looked at the cheaper Sony 35mm but apparently that is too zoomed in if I'm just holding the camera at arms length? I just dont want to waste my last bit of money on something that wont work for vlogging...

saw this earlier and wanted to chime in since i spent way too much time obsessing over this same thing last year. i started with a heavy lens and quickly realized that for vlogging, weight actually matters more than people admit... especially if youre walking around or have the camera on a small tripod. i ended up grabbing the Samyang AF 12mm f/2.0 Sony E and it was a game changer for my sit-downs. the thing is, when you turn on active stabilization on the zv-e10, the camera crops the image quite a bit. a 16mm lens ends up looking more like a 28mm or 30mm, which is kinda tight for arm-length filming. the 12mm gives you that extra breathing room so youre not just a giant floating head in the frame. its super light, fits right in your budget, and the autofocus is snappy enough for talking head stuff. plus its way more balanced on that tiny camera body compared to the sigma.

The Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary for Sony E is basically the best option for your sit-down videos. It provides a 24mm equivalent field of view, which is ideal for vlogging. The f/1.4 aperture is key for that background blur you want. It is heavy at 405g, but for tripod use it wont matter much. If you need something lighter, the Viltrox 23mm f/1.4 AF for Sony E is a decent alternative tho its a bit tighter.
