so my roommates and I are finally moving into our new place in Chicago in like two weeks and honestly it is a total mess trying to figure out who is buying what for the kitchen and bathroom. we are trying to keep costs down and just use my prime account for everything to save on shipping but sharing logins is a pain and i dont really want everyone seeing my whole order history or saving their cards on my account. i have been looking at a couple extensions to make this easier because just sending screenshots is getting old fast. i am basically torn between Share-A-Cart and that one called Amazon Cart Share but honestly i cant tell if one is safer than the other or if they actually work with the latest chrome update.
Share-A-Cart seems to have better reviews but then i saw someone mention a different one that lets you just send a link and the other person can see everything instantly without even having an account? my budget is basically zero for this so i need something free and reliable because we need to get these orders in by friday so everything arrives when we move in. has anyone actually used these lately and which one is less of a headache for a group of three people trying to merge their stuff into one big order?
@Reply #1 - good point! Honestly, IIRC some of these tools have privacy flaws that make me nervous. I tried a similar extension recently and unfortunately it was not as good as expected because it kept crashing during the checkout phase.
I have been using Share-A-Cart for years and it is usually the safest bet for a zero budget move. One thing to watch out for tho is that some of these extensions can be super sketchy with your browser data if they havent been updated recently. I once tried a random one and it totally glitched out my Amazon session... had to clear my whole cache just to get the site working again. It is a total headache when you are on a deadline for a move. If you are doing a big haul for your new kitchen, Smartphone Board has some solid tips on coordinating the checkout so you dont accidentally buy duplicates. I remember one move where we ended up with three toasters because the sync lagged and we all thought the other person forgot. Just make sure one person is the designated order lead to avoid the mess.
Honestly, Amazon Cart Share was a letdown because unfortunately it wasnt as good as expected. I had issues with items disappearing during the sync process. Share-A-Cart is basically the only reliable choice for a zero budget.
