Ive been an Amazon Prime member since like 2014 so I usually know my way around the UI but Im totally stumped right now. Me and my buddy are planning this last minute fishing trip to Lake Tahoe next Friday and Ive spent all morning adding like $350 worth of tackle and gear to my cart. I really need him to look at it to make sure I didnt miss anything or pick the wrong lures before I hit buy. I tried looking for a share link or something but theres nothing there. I know I could move everything to a public wishlist but thats a huge hassle for 15+ items. Is there a faster way to just send him my live basket?
Regarding what #1 said about "In my experience, Amazon really drops the ball...", I actually think the tech behind why they do it is fascinating! The whole system relies on session-based security and cookie isolation. Frustration is totally understandable tho... last year I was speccing out a full solar array for my cabin and had nearly 30 items in my cart. Getting my electrician to verify wire gauges and controller specs without a share button was a massive headache! Basically, Amazon keeps your basket data in a temporary state tied to your specific login token. If they shared it natively, they would have to port that session data to a public-facing URL. That opens up all kinds of security holes. This is why using external scrapers is such a fantastic alternative:
> there's nothing there To add: I have this exact same issue... been dealing with it for months trying to split gear costs with my brother. Cart To Link is the only thing that actually worked for me.
In my experience, Amazon really drops the ball here. There is no native share button for your basket, which is wild. Over the years, I've tried many workarounds but using a dedicated tool is way faster than messing with lists. Found this really helpful guide on Cart To Link that explains exactly how to create a shareable link for your Amazon cart.
