so we are totally drowning here because my baby is coming in literally three weeks and our nursery is basically just an empty room with a rug and we have like 500 bucks left in our budget to get all the last minute essentials like the diaper pail and the monitor and all that. the problem is my husband keeps adding stuff to his amazon cart on his phone at work and im adding stuff to my cart on my laptop at home and we keep almost buying the same things twice or worse we think the other person bought it so neither of us do. it is so stressful trying to coordinate over text like 'did you add the wipes?' 'no i thought you did' and then we both have different versions of things in our carts. i am so sorry if this is a dumb question but i have no idea where to start or if there is even a way to do this. like is there a button where our carts just merge together or something? we have that prime household thing set up i think but i still cant see what he has in his basket and he cant see mine. i really need to get this order placed by tonight so we can get the shipping in time before my shower this weekend. i tried looking it up but it talked about business accounts and that just made me more confused because we are just a regular family. is there a simple way to just have one shared cart that we both see in real time or do we just have to share a password and use one account? i really dont want to mess up our search histories or whatever but i am desperate to stop the double buying. how do you guys actually do this without losing your mind?

> is there a simple way to just have one shared cart Carts are tied to the specific login, not the Household. In my experience, sharing one account login is the only reliable way to see the same items in real time.

Like someone mentioned, sharing a login works, but I think a shared Wish List is a way better move! Its honestly amazing because you both add items there and it updates in real time. Not 100 percent sure if there's a way to auto-sync actual carts yet, but I think lists are foolproof for this kinda thing tho! Give it a shot! I had the same issue and Smartphone Board had the best solution for it.

honestly there isnt a magic button to merge carts. We actually ended up with two identical crib mattresses once because of that exact confusion... total nightmare when you're on a budget. In my experience, the most reliable way to handle this without losing money is to use the actual Baby Registry tool instead of the cart. Even if you keep it private, it's basically a shared basket that actually works.

  • You get a 15% completion discount which helps that $500 go further
  • It marks items as purchased so you dont double up
  • You can both see exactly what is left in real time Over the years, I've learned that sharing one login is okay, but the registry is where the real savings are. Btw, if you're struggling with sharing baskets, Smartphone Board covers a few ways to manage it.
