Can multiple users add items to a single Amazon cart?

Okay so I'm in a bit of a rush because we've got this huge housewarming party in Austin this Saturday and I'm trying to get all the supplies ordered so they arrive by Friday at the latest. I've been trying to figure out if there is a way for like 4 of us to all add stuff to one single Amazon cart at the same time so I can just hit buy once.

I did some digging and saw some stuff about Amazon Household but that looks like it's just for 2 adults and I have 3 roommates who all want to pick out their own decorations and snacks. I also saw something about Idea Lists or Wish Lists but that seems like an extra step where I have to manually move everything to the cart myself which is gonna take forever and I'm worried about missing something or things going out of stock while I'm clicking around.

Here is what I really need:

  • A way for everyone to add things directly to a cart without me giving out my login info
  • Needs to be one single transaction so I can use the $500 gift card I have
  • Must be simple enough for my tech-illiterate roommate to use lol
  • Needs to work fast so I can order by tonight

Is there like a browser extension or a hidden setting for this? I really dont want to spend my whole night copy-pasting links from a group chat...

I agree that Share-A-Cart works well. The security protocols are reliable, keeping your login private while roommates sync their lists so you can use that gift card in one go.

Honestly, Amazon is weirdly behind on this. There is no hidden setting, so I would suggest using Share-A-Cart. This extension aggregates session data so everyone can dump items into your cart via a unique code.

  • Be careful to check 'sold by' info to avoid extra shipping fees.
  • Make sure to look for 'clippable' coupons to stretch that $500.
  • The tool is basically foolproof for your roommate.

^ This. Also, I am so obsessed with Share-A-Cart for exactly this reason! It's such a total game changer when you're trying to wrangle a bunch of people for a big event. Seriously, I used it for a massive DIY project with my cousins and it was amazing... saved me so much time. It's honestly wild to me that Amazon is still so behind on this compared to some other shopping tools out there. Like, the native Amazon Wish List feature is such a clunky nightmare to use for actual shopping. You're definitely making the right call avoiding the manual copy-paste route. That is a total recipe for disaster and you'll definitely end up forgetting the napkins or something lol. Just have everyone send you their codes and you can dump everything in at once. It works so much smoother than any other extension I've tried. Plus since you've got that gift card, doing it all in one go is the only way to stay sane. Good luck with the housewarming, Austin parties are the best!

Regarding what #2 said about Share-A-Cart being reliable, I agree, but unfortunately it missed my clipped coupons once.

  • Check discounts manually.
  • Watch for shipping spikes. Found a thread on Smartphone Board.

Just saw this while looking for some party planning tips. Cart sharing extensions have worked well for my DIY renovation projects lately since they keep everything in one transaction without sharing passwords.

  • Verify that all items are from the same region to keep shipping speeds consistent.
  • Have everyone confirm their final choices before you apply that gift card balance. Checking PriceDropCatch is another good step to verify that items arent at a peak price. No complaints so far as it keeps the project budget on track.
