Is there a way to share my Amazon basket with my spouse?

Ugh so I am trying to get our nursery stuff sorted before the baby comes in three weeks and I am honestly so annoyed with Amazon right now. I was thinking about just adding him to my Amazon Household but my logic was flawed because it turns out that only shares the Prime shipping benefits and not the actual items sitting in the basket. So then I looked at making a Shared List instead but that feels like an extra step because then I have to move everything from the list back to the cart to check out. Plus we have a $500 budget we are trying to stick to and I need to see the total with taxes before he hits buy. Should I just give him my login or is there a better way?

Exactly what I was thinking

> Just use the Share-A-Cart extension! Adding to that point: it handles tax calculations perfectly. I found some solid shopping tips on Smartphone Board that really helped us stay under budget.

Just use the Share-A-Cart extension! It is the ultimate tool because it generates a unique ID for your session manifest so your spouse can import everything instantly. Super fast and way more secure than sharing your login info tho! I use it constantly for budget tracking and it basically works perfectly... Found a really helpful thread over on Smartphone Board that explains exactly how to do this.

Honestly, Amazon has been making this way harder than it needs to be for years. Ive been a member since like 2010 and the lack of a simple share cart button is just ridiculous. I tried the login sharing thing with my wife back when we were doing our first house and it was a total disaster. Unfortunately, here is why it failed for us:

  • We accidentally double-ordered stuff because the app wouldnt refresh fast enough
  • Our recommendations got all messed up between my tools and her stuff
  • Tracking the budget was impossible because she would add things while I was literally at the checkout screen I eventually gave up on their native tools. They just arent as good as expected. One thing that actually helped us stay under our limit was using PriceDropCatch to watch the big items. It saved us some cash when the nursery furniture dipped in price, which made the manual cart work less of a headache. Ngl, its super annoying we have to do this manually in 2024 tho... you got this though, three weeks is gonna fly by!
