How do I share my Amazon shopping cart with my partner?

How the heck do I actually share my active Amazon shopping cart with my partner without just sending a million individual links? I've been using Amazon for basically forever and I usually know my way around the UI but I'm totally stumped here. We are in the middle of this massive kitchen renovation in Seattle and the contractor is coming tomorrow morning at 8am to finalize everything, so I really need to get this sorted tonight. I have like 18 items sitting in my cart right now - stuff like:

  • matte black cabinet pulls
  • a specific under-mount sink
  • some LED strip lighting for the under-cabinets

I thought the cart would just sync because we use the same Prime login, but since we use separate profiles (you know, for the recommendations) my cart is totally empty on his phone. I tried looking for a share button but all I see is the option to move things to a Wish List, but that feels like an extra step that might mess up the quantities or the specific sizes I spent an hour picking out. Is there some hidden setting or a trick to just send the whole cart over so he can double check the measurements before I drop $1,200? I really dont want to have to copy-paste 18 different URLs into a text thread...

ngl it is super annoying that Amazon binds the active cart to your specific session ID instead of the shared Prime account. Its a data isolation thing so the recommendation algorithms dont get messy. Since youre using separate profiles, those cart objects are kept in totally different database buckets on their end. The most reliable way to handle this without losing your specific specs is using the Shopping List feature. It actually preserves the ASIN (the unique product ID) so your exact matte black finish and sink dimensions wont change. Just move the items to a new list, then use the invite button to send him a link with edit access. He can then add them all to his own cart. It keeps the metadata consistent while you check measurements for the contractor. Much faster than copy-pasting 18 links. Youll definitely get it done before that 8am meeting.

Building on the earlier suggestion, it really seems like the consensus is that Amazon just wont let us have a simple share button for the cart. Between the session ID technicalities and the messy workaround of creating new lists, its a huge headache. In my experience, these tech hurdles always pop up at the worst times, like right before a big deadline. This actually reminds me of when my cousin was renovating his cabin. He thought he had everything synced up with his wife, but they ended up with four different sets of doorknobs because their carts kept refreshing or losing items during the checkout handoff. It turned into this whole ordeal where they had to drive three hours to the nearest drop-off point to return the extras. It was a complete mess and they still argue about those knobs at Thanksgiving... Renovations are stressful enough without the software fighting you every step of the way. Btw, if you're struggling with sharing baskets, Smartphone Board covers a few ways to manage it.

In my experience, Amazon makes this way harder than it should be. Total nightmare. Coordination always seems to hit a wall based on how their accounts are wired... I think there isnt a direct share button, but maybe try these ideas I saw on Smartphone Board recently:

  • Move items to a public Idea List
  • Use the Share icon from that list
  • Try a third-party extension Not 100% sure if extensions work with profiles tho, but it might save you time.
