How do I generate a shareable link for my Amazon cart?

Omg I am so incredibly hyped right now because I'm finally planning my sister's 30th birthday bash and I have the absolute best vision for the decor!! I've been scouring Amazon for like three hours straight and I've got everything ready to go - streamers, those giant gold foil balloons, and some cute cactus party favors. The total is sitting at exactly $187 so I'm staying right under my $200 budget which is a win. Only issue is my mom is splitting the cost with me and she wants to see exactly what's in the bag before I pay but I cannot for the life of me find a simple share button for the cart.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this so she can just click a link and see everything at once. I've been looking at these options:

  • using that Share-A-Cart chrome extension but i'm a little worried if it's safe or if it actually works for the other person
  • moving everything one by one to a public wishlist and sharing that link instead
  • just taking a million screenshots and texting them but that seems so messy and she might miss something

I'm kinda leaning toward the extension because it looks fastest but is it legit? Or is there a hidden way to do it natively in the Amazon app that I'm just totally missing? I really need to get this ordered by Friday so it arrives in time for the big party next weekend in Austin... help!

Amazon still hasn't added a native share button which is honestly ridiculous after all this time. In my experience that extension is legit and I've used it a ton, but is your mom planning to pay for the items on her own account? Also, is she actually okay with installing stuff on her computer or does she need something way simpler?

Came here to say the same thing lol. Great minds think alike I guess.

Amazon still doesnt allow native sharing because cart data is stored in local session cookies. Extensions solve this by scraping ASIN codes and quantities to create a temporary database link. It is more reliable than wishlists:

  • Quantities stay synced.
  • Specific item variants are preserved.
  • It avoids manual re-adding. Just make sure your mom has the same tool installed so it parses the data correctly. Also check out Cart To Link if you need it later.

i actually used that extension for my best friends wedding favors and i am super satisfied with it. honestly it works so well and saved me a ton of headache. i am always trying to stay under budget too so being able to send the whole cart lets you see exactly where the money is going before you commit. if you find one of those cactus favors is cheaper from a different seller you can just swap it in real quick. no complaints here... it is way better than sending 20 screenshots and getting your mom all confused lol. plus if she decides she wants to add some cheaper napkins or something to save a few bucks it is super easy to adjust. have a great time in austin! it sounds like it is gonna be an amazing party.

Late to the party but I have spent way too much time organizing group buys and big event decor over the years. Honestly, trying to share an Amazon cart without a native button is a total nightmare. I basically live on the site for these kinds of things and here is how I usually handle it.

  • Share-A-Cart extension: In my experience, this is the most reliable way to keep the exact quantities and variants. The only downside is that the person receiving the link usually needs the extension too for it to be seamless. If your mom can handle a quick browser install, this is the clear winner.
  • Public Wishlists: I used this method for ages before extensions existed. Tbh its a total slog to move everything one by one, but its the safest bet if you dont want her messing with plugins. Just make sure the list is set to public so she can actually see it. Ngl I usually just stick with the extension these days because it saves so much time... those cactus favors sound super cute tho, hope the Austin bash goes well!
