sorry if this is a dumb question but im getting married in Seattle next June and I dont know where to start with an online gift registry. I was thinking of just listing things on a website but how do people know if someones already bought it? I'm totally lost on the tech part...

When I was planning my wedding back in 2019, I was literally pulling my hair out trying to figure out the same thing. I thought people were gonna end up buying me five toasters lol. But the tech is actually super smart these days! Most registry sites work like a live inventory... basically when someone clicks buy, the site marks it as purchased immediately so nobody else can grab it. It's like magic! For my big day, I wanted stuff from all over the place—local shops, big retailers, everything. I found out you can actually share Amazon Wishlist or use an aggregator site that lets you pull items from any store on the web into one list. When a guest buys something, the site asks them for a confirmation number or just tracks the click-through. It totally prevents those awkward double-gifts! I remember my cousin almost bought the same vacuum as my aunt, but the site flagged it just in time. Honestly, just find a platform that lets you sync everything. It makes the whole process so much less stressful and your guests will love how easy it is to just click and be done! Congrats on the June wedding too, Seattle is gorgeous that time of year!!
