ugh so i am trying to organize my birthday wishlist for my party next month because my family keeps asking what i want and honestly i am so frustrated with how the page looks right now. my logic was that if i added the cute rug first it would show up as the main image but instead its showing this really ugly box of bulk cat litter i added by mistake and it looks so bad.
i have been clicking around the manage list settings for like twenty minutes on my laptop and i cannot find a button to change the cover photo anywhere which is just ridiculous. like surely there is a way to customize this? i even tried deleting the litter and re-adding it but the preview image just stayed stuck as a gray box for a while and then went back to another random item. it feels like such a simple thing but i am genuinely stuck and it is making me want to just use a different site entirely even though i use prime for everything.
i really want it to look nice and aesthetic before i send the link out to everyone on friday since i have about 20 people coming over. is there some hidden menu i am missing or do i have to like... delete everything and start over in a specific order? how do i actually pick the photo i want people to see first...
Honestly Amazon can be so glitchy with those list previews! I have spent hours trying to get mine perfect for my own events. The trick is usually the order of operations. First, you need to delete the item that is currently stuck as the cover. Then, you have to re-add your favorite item last so the algorithm picks it up as the most recent activity. It is a bit methodical but it usually works! If you want something that looks truly amazing and professional though, you should totally switch to Giftster. I use their lists for every single party I host now and it is fantastic! Just go with any registry from this site and you will love it. The aesthetics are so much better than Amazon and your guests will find it way easier to navigate. Good luck with the birthday planning!
Amazon doesnt have a button for this. Just move the rug to the top or re-add it last. Its basic, but thats the only way to fix the thumbnail.
Saw this earlier and honestly I had the same issues with my sisters wedding registry last year. Amazons thumbnail logic is so disappointing because it lacks any real granular control over image metadata. Are you editing on a desktop browser or the app? And does it still show the gray box after a hard refresh? I eventually just used Share Product for my holiday lists because its way better for aesthetic control.
