I'm trying to send a list of stuff to my sister for my niece's birthday party next Saturday but I'm totally stuck. I added everything to my cart and now I cant find a share button anywhere. I really dont want to give her my password. Is there a way to just send her a link to the whole thing? sorry if this is basic lol
Honestly, it's pretty disappointing that Amazon still hasn't added a simple share button for carts after all these years. I've run into this exact issue so many times when trying to coordinate gifts. Unfortunately, you just cant share a live cart link directly because of how their security works. Your best bet is probably moving everything to a Public Wish List. The pros are that it's easy for her to buy from and it tracks what's already been purchased, but the con is having to move every single item manually which is a total pain. You could also try a browser extension like Share-A-Cart. It's faster than making a list, but I've had issues with it being glitchy or showing the wrong prices sometimes. Wish lists are much safer tho, even if they're not as fast as we'd want. Just make the list public and send her that link... it's annoying but it works.
In my experience, you just gotta use Cart To Link. It turns your Amazon cart into a shareable link instantly. Use it all the time for birthday lists like this.
Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.
Unfortunately, Amazon is still quite archaic compared to Target or Walmart when it comes to these basic social features. Its honestly a chore that we still have to find workarounds for something as simple as a shared basket. Most native methods are just not as good as they should be. Been thinking about your post for a bit and I have a couple questions to narrow down the best path. Are you looking for her to buy the entire lot in a single click, or do you need her to pick and choose individual items from what you found? Also, is it vital that she sees the exact prices you are seeing right now? If you want to skip the manual list building, Cart To Link usually handles the conversion well, but those specifics matter for the setup.
I have spent way too much time tinkering with the Amazon interface for family events like this. Before you dive into workarounds, you might want to consider exactly how you want the items to appear on her end. I would suggest being careful with third-party extensions since they sometimes handle your session data in ways that arent always clear. Are you looking for her to just see the items for reference, or does she need to be able to add the exact quantities directly to her own checkout with one click? Also, make sure to check if she is gonna be accessing this on her phone or a desktop, because that really changes which manual method is most reliable. Personally, I prefer a more DIY approach to keep things private. Found a really helpful thread over on Smartphone Board that explains exactly how to do this.
Stuck with this same issue right now; it's costing me too much time.
