Does Sephora offer price adjustments if an item goes on sale?

So Ive been a Rouge member for like five years now and I usually have the Sephora sales calendar memorized to a T but I totally messed up this time. I bought the Drunk Elephant Protini moisturizer and a new Danessa Myricks palette last Tuesday—spent about 160 dollars total—because I was completely out of my daily cream and couldnt wait for a restock. Of course, literally three days later, I see this random promotional discount pop up on the app for 20 percent off certain skincare and sets. My logic was that since Im such a frequent shopper there they might just credit the difference back to my card or give me a store credit or something? I know some places like Nordstrom are super chill about this if its within 14 days but I realized Ive actually never had to ask Sephora for a price match or adjustment before.

Im kinda hesitant to drive all the way back to the mall just to find out they wont do it. I was thinking about just buying it again at the sale price and then returning the unopened one with my old receipt but that feels like a huge hassle and honestly a bit shady even if its technically allowed. Has anyone actually successfully gotten a price adjustment from them recently or do they make you do the whole return and repurchase thing? I just dont want to lose my points or mess up my status over a 30 dollar difference but 30 dollars is still 30 dollars...

Agreeing here. Sephora systems dont allow manual overrides.

  • Return and rebuy is the only fix.
  • Track the 30-day window. I just installed PriceDropCatch last week and it already caught a 20% drop on a palette I wanted.

> I was thinking about just buying it again at the sale price and then returning the unopened one Yeah, honestly, Sephora is super annoying about this. They dont do formal price adjustments at all. Your idea of buying the sale item and returning it with the old receipt is basically the only workaround that actually works. I started using PriceDropCatch to track prices so I dont get burned by these surprise sales anymore. Totally worth it to avoid the hassle of extra trips to the mall.

Oh man, I have been in that exact same boat so many times and it is literally the worst feeling! Sephora is actually super strict and they dont officially do price adjustments. I remember buying a huge haul of Glow Recipe stuff right before a sale hit and I was so crushed!

  • Return and Rebuy: This is the only way to guarantee your money back, though it is a total hassle and feels kinda awkward.
  • Customer Service Chat: You can try it from home, but honestly they usually just offer some measly points instead of a refund. I got tired of the stress so now I always use PriceDropCatch to look at the price history charts before I buy. It helps me see if a sale is likely coming up so I dont get burned! Honestly, just go for the return if you have the time, because 30 dollars is way too much to just give away.
