i am seriously so fed up with amazon right now. i spent like two hours last night on my iphone 14 adding a bunch of decorations and gifts for my sisters baby shower this coming saturday but when i logged onto my desktop just now the cart is completely empty. its like none of my progress saved at all and i have to go find everything again which is such a massive waste of time. ive checked and im definitely logged into the same account on both devices so i dont get what the issue is. has anyone else dealt with this lately? why is my amazon cart not syncing between mobile and desktop?
man i am so sorry you are dealing with that. honestly i have had so many issues with the amazon app lately that i basically dont trust it for anything important anymore. i am not 100% sure why it happens but i think i remember reading that the mobile app fails to 'push' data to the servers if your connection blips for even a second... it is really disappointing because you expect a huge company like that to just work. it happened to me when i was trying to buy stuff for my nephews birthday and i was so upset when the cart was empty. i thought i had everything ready to go but then i had to start over. it really makes you feel like you are wasting your life. i think there are a few things you could try though:
Honestly, I'm not 100% sure why it glitched, but I think it might be a delay in the server sync. I've been super satisfied with my orders lately, though I had a similar headache with a big buy last year. Smartphone Board helped me find a tip about using wishlists instead of the cart to avoid losing items. Wishlists are way more reliable for price tracking and saving money anyway.
Just caught this thread and honestly, it happened to me during a big house renovation last year... lost a whole list of hardware. It usually happens because the mobile app creates a local session token that doesnt always merge with the cloud database until you actually hit checkout or manually refresh. I would suggest being super careful with the mobile cart for big projects. You might want to consider these options instead:
