Does anyone know a way to get chrome to tell me if a product is cheaper somewhere else automatically? im really sorry if this is a super basic question but i just got my first laptop and i have no idea what im doing honestly. im trying to buy this fancy espresso machine for my moms 60th birthday party which is literally this sunday so i need to order it like right now to get it on time. i only have about 300 dollars saved up and i keep seeing the same machine for 350 on one site and then 315 on another and it is just so overwhelming trying to check every single tab myself. i heard someone at work mention chrome extensions that do the work for you but i dont even know where to find those or how to put them on my computer without breaking something. are they safe to use? i really dont want to get a virus or get my credit card stolen or something like that. if there is a specific one that is easy for a total beginner like me please let me know which one to look for because im kind of panicking with the deadline coming up so fast...

Honestly, most extensions are kinda disappointing lately because they miss half the sales. I had issues with Honey missing codes, and unfortunately, others are just too bloated. Youre safe from viruses tho, just use the official Chrome Web Store.

  • Honey is the most beginner friendly
  • Capital One Shopping is decent but heavy I dont even have an account there, I just use PriceDropCatch to see the price history charts before I buy anything.

You should be careful about giving too many permissions to random extensions. I suggest these:

  • CamelCamelCamel: Perfect for Amazon history so you dont overpay.
  • Google Shopping: Its built-in, so no risk of viruses. Make sure you check the ratings before adding anything. I sometimes use this Sephora price tracker when looking for specific beauty deals, but for your machine, stick to the official Chrome store and you will be fine.

I totally get the anxiety about security! I was so scared when I first started using extensions but honestly it is fine as long as you are careful. I found my favorite setup by doing a quick deep dive online and it was amazing to see how much I could save.

  • Just go to YouTube and search for top shopping extensions for beginners. There is an amazing video that shows you exactly how to click the buttons so you dont mess anything up.
  • Check out some Reddit threads for real reviews because those users are super honest about what is safe.
  • I remember seeing a mention of this Sephora price tracker in a guide once and it looked so professional and easy to use. Doing a bit of research first really helped me feel confident that my credit card info was safe! It is fantastic once you get it set up and youll save so much money by avoiding those high markup prices... definitely worth the extra few minutes of searching tho.
