I recently upgraded to a Sony Bravia, but I am having a hard time deciding on a wall mount. I noticed that several Bravia models have a slightly unique back panel design with recessed ports, and I am worried a generic mount might block my HDMI cables.
I am looking for something that works across their common 55 to 75-inch range, specifically fitting those 300x300 VESA patterns without being too bulky. I would love a tilt option that is sturdy enough for the weight but still keeps it relatively flush to the wall. Has anyone found a specific brand or bracket that fits the Bravia layout perfectly without blocking the inputs? Which mount would you recommend for the best fit?
Respectfully, I'd consider another option before dropping serious cash on high-end brands. I have spent years doing pro installs and I've learned that you dont always need to spend $150 to get a flush fit with cable clearance. So, looking at your 55-75 inch range, the Sanus VLT6-B1 Advanced Tilt 4D Wall Mount mentioned earlier is definitely premium, but it is kinda pricey for a tilt-only need.

Sony backs are weirdly recessed, so ports get blocked. Basically check out:
The Sanus MountFinder tool shows how the spacers clear everything!
Curious about one thing: what kind of wall are u actually mounting this on? I totally agree that the Sanus mentioned earlier is the best bet for safety reasons, plus it handles those recessed ports well. Honestly I have been really satisfied with how sturdy that brand's mounting plates feel... it provides excellent structural stability for the weight. But yeah, are u dealing with standard studs or something like brick? Safety first!
This is exactly what I needed to hear. Youre a lifesaver honestly.
@Reply 2 - good point! I went through this exact process when I was setting up my 65-inch last month. I was worried about the clearance issues with those recessed ports, but the solution turned out to be fairly logical. In my experience, you dont need to spend a lot on a specialized bracket. I just used a standard tilting mount from Mounting Dream and it worked out fine. The key was using the plastic spacers included in the kit. By adding those between the bracket and the TV, you create just enough gap for the HDMI cables to run freely. It avoids any pinching against the wall. Basically, you cant go wrong with a brand like Mounting Dream or Pipishell. They provide a comprehensive hardware pack with various spacer sizes, so you can easily adjust the fit for the Bravia back panel. It was a straightforward DIY install once I realized the spacers were the answer.
