I just got a massive 65 inch Sony Bravia for my first apartment and I am so hyped!! I've never had a nice TV before but the speakers sound a bit thin when I'm watching action movies. I want to get a soundbar but I have absolutely no idea where to start or what even fits. Sorry if this is a total newbie question but do I have to get a Sony brand soundbar for it to work properly?
I was thinking maybe a Sony one would just "talk" to the TV better but then I saw some Bose ones that looked cool too. My logic was that same brand means easier setup? I have about $350 to spend and I really want to get it set up before my movie night this Friday. Is there a specific one that's basically plug and play for a dummy like me...
Just catching up here. Over the years, I've seen so many people struggle with sync issues when mixing brands. I'm always cautious about compatibility, so I'd stick with the Sony HT-S400 2.1ch Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer. It's budget friendly and the Bravia Sync is basically foolproof. Check out the RTINGS site too... it's a solid resource for comparing technical specs if you want to look at Bose alternatives.
Adding my two cents here because I am so excited for you! Getting that first big screen is such a rush!! I remember when I first upgraded, I was terrified of getting a bar that would lag or have weird sync issues. You definitely dont have to stick with Sony tho! Most modern sets use eARC technology which is basically a universal handshake. It makes the connection super stable so you wont have to worry about audio cutting out during the best parts of the movie! I really love the Samsung HW-Q600C 3.1.2ch Soundbar with Dolby Atmos for this price. I used a similar model for years and it was rock solid. That dedicated center channel is a total game changer because it makes voices so clear! Its totally plug and play with just one cable. Youre gonna have the best time Friday night!!!
