I just bought a 75-inch Sony Bravia XR X90K and it is literally sitting on the floor right now because the legs are way too wide for my media console. I need this thing mounted by Friday night before my brother in law comes over to watch the game. My logic was to just grab whatever is top rated on Amazon but honestly im getting frustrated with all the conflicting info. I spent ages looking at the Sanus Elite stuff because everyone says they are the best for heavy sets but then I saw a few threads saying Sony TVs use specific bolt patterns or the holes are too shallow for the standard screws that come in the box. So then I looked at the Echogear full motion mount but it looks so flimsy in the pictures compared to the weight of a 75 inch panel. I really dont want $2,000 worth of glass face-planting on my floor in the middle of the night. I found the official Sony SU-WL850 mount online but its like $250 which is just a total rip off for a bracket right? But then the cheap universal ones supposedly leave this massive gap between the wall and the TV which looks terrible. I have about $120 to spend and I just want something that actually fits the Sony back panel without me having to run to Home Depot three times for different bolts. Does anyone have a 75 inch Sony actually on the wall with something they trust?...

Unfortunately, Sony's recessed VESA pattern is a nightmare for most generic mounts. Ive seen too many people strip the threads because the included bolts are trash. The Mounting Dream MD2298 Full Motion TV Wall Mount 42-86 inch is one of the few under 100 bucks that actually feels secure for a 75-inch panel. It handles up to 132 lbs easily. Just make sure you use the specific M6 spacers Sony provides in the box or it wont sit flush.

I would suggest being careful with generic kits for a 75 inch. I have used the Sanus VLT7 Advanced Tilt 4D and it is basically rock solid. The Echogear Full Motion EGLF2 is actually way tougher than it looks in photos too.

  • Sanus: very easy to level, feels premium
  • Echogear: better price, great movement Just make sure to use those plastic spacers Sony includes in the box or you might bottom out the bolts.

Honestly, that official Sony mount is priced that way because it lets the TV sit almost flush while still giving you a bit of a pull-out feature. You're basically paying for the convenience of knowing the VESA bolts will fit perfectly without any trips to the hardware store. Most universal mounts will work with the X90K, but you gotta be careful with the spacers since Sony likes to have that weird protrusion at the bottom of the panel. I've hung plenty of these heavy Bravias over the years and the gap usually comes down to whether you use the long or short spacers provided in the kit. To give you a better idea of what would actually work for your setup tho, are you needing to swivel this thing to reach different seating areas, or is a simple tilt mount enough? Also, what kind of wall material are we talking about here? Standard drywall over wood studs or something else?
